It was hard raising 7500 euros for our first Worldreader Netherlands fundraiser. It took 5 months longer than we anticipated. We learned a lot. And I was reminded that there are rare people out there who say "yes" and keep saying "yes" even when things get hard. This is Sherlocked. The founders, (left to right) Micah, Victor, and Tristan, donated money from games, 2460 euros in total. They donated more than twice as much as our next most-generous donors.
Sherlocked are the good guys. There's is an unrivaled escape room gaming experience located at the Beurs van Berlage right on Dam Square in Amsterdam. Everyone I know who has gone through this game said it is a spectacular experience--energizing and delightful, even if time runs out before you finish it. Sherlocked games are rooted in actual history, making the impact of the experience connected to the real world.
In the real world, 750 million people can't read. Of those, 250 million are school age children. With the help of Sherlocked, Worldreader Netherlands will make that number a bit smaller. And we're going to continue to make it smaller with each new school we support.
2014 was Worldreader's biggest year yet. Get the report.
Thank you, Sherlocked. Worldreader Netherlands loves you.
More Sherlocked left to right...too sweet to edit.
